Kylesa is an American sludge metal band, which was created in 2001 in Savannah, Georgia; the band's members have played, in the past, in such bands as Damad, Cobra Kali and The Mugshots. Their music is a mix of experimentation, steamroller riffs, distorted guitars and elements of psychedelic rock. The band went through some line-up changes, since its foundation – in 2006 they were joined by two drummers: Carl McGinley and Jeff Porter. The newest member of Kylesa is Eric Hernandez, who joined the band in 2008 to replace Porter during the “Static Tensions” recording session.
